Santa Gloria Reserve Chardonnay 187.5ml
Country/Region of Origin: Chile

Region: Chile, Central Valley

Grape variety: Chardonnay

Background: Santa Alicia have been producing wines in the heart of Maipo Valley since 1954. With grapes from three select communes, a state of the art winery, and judicious use of the finest American and French oak barrels, we believe the wines represent the highest price/quality ratio in Chile.

In 2007, they were named Chilean Wine Producer of the Year for "best overall results from a Chilean winery" in the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.

Santa Alicia possesses a very talented team of winemakers. Leading the team, is David González, with more than 30 years of experience. David contributes, together with his philosophy of perfection, extensive knowledge and the dedication of an artisan. For him, a glass of wine goes beyond the sensory pleasure, and turns into a bridge of communication between the art of creating a mythical concoction and its final consumers.

Tasting notes: This wine was made from hand-picked grapes of the Pirque region in the high Maipo valley where the soil and climate are among the best in the world to grow noble wine grapes. This chardonnay is aged for six months in French oak – the end result is complex, and subtle smoky-oak aromas, intense banana, papaya, pineapple and mango fruit characters and a creamy and buttery texture.

Intense yellow colour with golden reflections. Expressive, cheerful nose with citrus fruit like pineapple, mandarin oranges and green apple. Just the right touches of vanilla and toasted almonds from the wood. Fresh mouthfeel, good volume, vivacious and persistent.
