ALEXANDRA SINGLE VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2023. A parcel of vines in the centre of the 19 ha Three Miners vineyard at Earnscleugh in the Alexandra Basin provides the fruit for this single vineyard wine.
The 20 + year old vines are planted in shallow, free-draining sandy loam over stony gravels on the banks of the Clutha River in the heart of historic goldmining country. The climate here is dry with a wide diurnal temperature range contrasting very warm days with cool nights in summer. Hand harvested grapes from Clones 777 and 114 have produced a wine with elegance and intensity. Another example of the amazing diversity of Central Otago’s sub regions.
