Region: Italy Grape variety: Traditional blend of Corvina, Rondinella & Molinara
Background: Fine red wine from the classic Valpolicella region. Farina was established in the early 1900s, with the company now managed by the third generation of the family, cousins Claudio and Elena. While they nod to the past, they are also looking to the future, with strong efforts to keep their vines in optimum health through organic and sustainable methods.
Winemaking process: Grapes are sourced from Farina's own 10ha of vineyards, as well as from local growers, with the stipulation that the fruit they buy must come from plots which have been farmed sustainably, using natural pest-management practices and organic fertilisers.
Tasting notes: This is a medium bodied, elegant red, with silky tannins and wild cherry and bramble fruit flavours and a hint of almond on the finish. Expect aromas and flavours of red cherry, plum and other red berries, as well as herbs and blossom.
GRAPES: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, other grapes as per the production regulations
COLOUR: A Valpolicella Superiore for elegance and structure. Pale ruby.
BOUQUET: it noses, immediately reveals hints of cherry, blackberry, and spices (black pepper).
PALATE: In the mouth, it is structured but agile, with a soft and enveloping tannin. Excellent persistence and pleasant drinking.
Perfect served at 16-18° C, paired with savory first courses, white meats, mixed grills and medium-aged cheese such as Monte Veronese.
