Background: Chateau Grimard is a small, three generation-old family estate located in the commune of Lugon, just outside the Fronsac region on the right-bank of Bordeaux. The vineyard lies on a south-east slope, which is ideal for attaining full ripeness. The vines have an average age of 25 years.
Tasting notes: Classic Bordeaux red wine offering a deep red-purple colour, a lush bouquet, and ripe plummy-cassis fruit with good structure.
Tasting notes: Intense and deep garnet colour with bluish fringes. The expressive, fine and complex nose delivers notes of fruit such as blackcurrant and blackberry, liquorice and truffles. The attack on the palate is very rich, the mid-palate delivers supple and velvety tannins enhanced by a touch of freshness and a bouquet of fruit associated with spicy notes (pepper and cloves).
