Region: Australia, Langhorne Creek
Grape Variety: Shiraz
Background: A collaboration of industry veterans Ben Glaetzer, Scott Collet, Grant Tilbrook and Nick Keukenmeester who have developed Heartland into an award-winning winery, since producing the first vintage in 2001. They embrace the best Australian fruits and create wines of balance and texture with a uniquely Australian identity.
Tasting Notes A purple core remains deep out to the rim. The aromas are a combination of fresh blackberries and blueberries, plum jam and liquorice strap. The palate is medium to full bodied. It is driven by dark fruits and offset by sweet spice and a hint of pepper on the finish. It is at once soft and pleasant while lingering on the palate and showing strong ageing potential.
Food Pairing: The Heartland Shiraz is an exceptional wine that pairs beautifully with grilled meats, rich stews and hearty pasta dishes.
